So, I realized that the posts I made about cases and lists are getting rather old, and it's not on my front page anymore, so therefore people may not necessarily know that they can, in fact, submit cases and list ideas to me. I figure having "Guidelines for Case and List Submissions" written across the top of my blog can't hurt. Oh, and there are also the actual guidelines:
Guidelines for Cases:
Cases That Should Be Submitted (The Former List)
-deductions you've started to make, but need an outside opinion on
-harmless urban legends or rumors to be theorized upon and/or debunked
-science/logic-related questions that I can answer to the best of my ability
-pictures
of stuff that you'd like deductions to be made about (Some other
bloggers have looked at photos of things like peoples' desks, which
seems to be a bit of an invasion of privacy to me but if you want that
kind of thing done go ahead.)
-conspiracy theories (This is just for fun.)
-small cases in a school or workplace that an outsider could give ideas on
Cases That Should NOT Be Submitted (The Latter List)
-anything the police would normally deal with
-matters of national/global security
-anything
involving private personal information, classified government
information, or other things that shouldn't be put on the Internet
-anything of a crude or sexual nature, or really anything not safe for work.
(This isn't that kind of blog. Answers.com can give you that perfectly well.)
Any case submissions that fall into the categories of the latter list (which I labeled in case you're unsure) will not be considered and will be deleted. If you are in serious trouble, contact the proper emergency services for your area.
Guidelines for List Submissions:
Rules That Are A Whole Lot Simpler Than The Ones For Cases:
1. Nothing that would be
inappropriate for anybody under the age of 13. Though the information
may be a bit complex for younger readers, this blog is not meant to be
obscene or offensive.
2. Anything that has to do with
deduction is pretty much accepted. It can include things about
resources, experiences, or just more advice that would work well as a
list.
Also, for both: I retain the right to not feature a case or use a list idea for ANY reason. A response with the reason why will be given if appropriate.
Happy submitting!
